Ace of Base - the new ABBA

ABBA - A hitroller rolling over the whole world. Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Anderson, Agnetha Fältskog and Annafried Lyngstad created a sensation when they won with Waterloo at the Grand Prix D'Eurovision in 1974. After that, innumerable mega-hits followed, which haven't lost any of their fascination. The most famous were Fernando, Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Take A Chance On Me and The Winner Takes It All. In 1982 the successful quartet seperated.

Europe - In 1986 the hard rock band with the singer and bevy Joey Tempest became popular in whole Europe at a blow - with the LP The Final Countdown with the theme song becoming a first-class mega hit. Also the following single releases Carrie, Rock The Night and Cherokee were internationaly successful. Despite the good succession LP Superstitious, the star of Europe began to sink in 1988. But this didn't seperate the band: As of today, the five musicians are still active in the business.

Roxette - In the case of Roxette, the international break-through was long in coming. After a lot of unsuccessful records, the pop-duo finally made it in 1989: The Look has a catchy tune of the best qualitiy and shot right to the top of all charts. The spell was broken and also the following singles of Marie Frederiksson and Per Gessle were successful. Listen To Your Heart, Dangerous, It Must Have Been Love or Sleeping In My Car are the most famous titles of the Scandinavian chart-attackers.
